Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Hammersmith And The Rt Hon Member For Monklands East
Robert G Hughes
1992-02-05
That this House congratulates the honourable Member for Hammersmith on finally withdrawing his ludicrous and often repeated claim that a Labour Government would increase housing expenditure by ú8 billion without increasing public expenditure; notes his repeated insistence that the Leader of the Labour Party and the Shadow Chancellor agree with him; demands that the Shadow Chancellor, the Right honourable Member for Monklands East, make a statement to the House explaining how this latest example of double dealing on the economy and taxation came about, and that he makes it clear who is correct; and calls on the Labour Party to admit that their half-baked housing plans would bring the house building programme to a halt.
