Kurdish Ceasefire
John Austin
1998-10-19
That this House welcomes the recent unilateral cease-fire declared by the PKK in south east Turkey; believes that there can be no military victory for either side in the 15 year old war between the Kurdish people and the Turkish state; and calls on the Turkish government to recognise the Kurdish identity, to end all human rights violations and take the opportunity presented by the cease-fire to create a peaceful, political solution to the conflict.
