Government Support For Science
Ian Gibson
2000-07-05
That this House welcomes the commitment of ú1 billion to support the science infrastructure in United Kingdom universities, which illustrates the Government's support for a strong science base which results in contributions like the human genome project, which will benefit mankind and furthers the Government's intention to support innovation and a knowledge-based economy; and further notes that the support for PhD students in the announcement is a major advance which should help attract the brightest brains into the fields of science and technology.
