Tax Threshold For Redundancy Pay

EDM number 1315 in 2001-02, proposed by Helen Jones on 15/05/2002.

That this House notes that the tax threshold for redundancy pay has remained at its present level of ú30,000 for many years; and calls upon the government to raise the threshold to ú40,000 and thereafter to increase the threshold annually in line with the percentage increase in national average earnings.
