Ethical Tea Partnership
Laura Moffatt
2005-02-01
That this House congratulates the Ethical Tea Partnership for its work in monitoring the living and working conditions on tea estates in tea-producing countries; notes that two-thirds of the tea sold in the UK comes from Ethical Tea Partnership member companies; welcomes the organisation's aim of ensuring that the tea bought and sold in the UK from the members of the partnership is produced in a socially responsible way; notes its objective of ensuring that 100 per cent. of the tea from its members complies with the relevant legal regulations and union agreements of each tea-producing country; and further congratulates the Ethical Tea Partnership and its member companies for their work in this area.
