Commonwealth Parliamentary Association And The Commonwealth
David Marshall
2005-12-01
That this House, following the recent very successful Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Malta, recognises that the Commonwealth has an enhanced and vital role in bringing its family of rich and poor nations together to discuss and take action on the major democratic, governance, economic and environmental development challenges that face the world; further recognises the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association as a most important forum within which all Commonwealth parliamentarians can work together to build and strengthen democracy throughout the Commonwealth; and acknowledges the excellent and highly relevant work of the United Kingdom Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association in furthering the aims of the Association and commends membership of the United Kingdom Branch to all hon. Members.
