Policing Of Demonstrations In London On 3rd February
David TC Davies
2006-02-06
That this House notes with dismay the response of the police to the protests which took place in London over the weekend of 3rd February; is appalled that despite the shameful and violent sentiments expressed by protestors no arrests were made; disagrees that a `softly softly' approach was suitable in this instance; contrasts the lack of a police response with the approach adopted towards an anti-war protestor arrested in Whitehall last year; and therefore demands that a full and open inquiry be undertaken to determine how effective the responses were and how the police should best deal with similar instances in the future.
