13th National Vegetarian Week

EDM number 152 in 2005-06, proposed by Norman Baker on 19/05/2005.

That this House welcomes and fully supports the House of Commons Refreshment Department's enthusiastic participation in the 13th National Vegetarian Week by producing special prepared healthy and exciting vegetarian menu options throughout the week; notes the health benefits of eating more fruit and vegetables in line with the Government's `5 Fruit and Veg a day' campaign; recognises the Vegetarian Society's efforts to encourage healthy eating through its Cordon Vert school and educational programmes; notes with concern that the UK's three million vegetarians and vegans continue to experience unacceptable levels of misleading labelling; and calls on the Government to introduce and promote clear honest labelling.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
