<title>Time Limit For Local Authority Referendums</title>
<proposer id="10527">Adrian Sanders</proposer>
<date>2012-05-09</date>
<text>That this House welcomes the ability of local communities to determine the form of governance used by their local authorities; notes with concern that communities in England can hold a referendum on local government arrangements only once every 10 years compared to five years in Wales; and calls on the Government to bring forward proposals to equalise the limits so that all councils can hold referendums every five years if supported by the appropriate number of local residents.</text>
