Birmingham's European City of Sport Award

EDM number 1008 in 1989-90, proposed by Robin Corbett on 16/05/1990.

That this House congratulates the city of Birmingham on its award of the title of European City of Sport for All 1990-91 by the International Assembly of National Organisations of Sport; notes the success of dual-use schemes in city schools, the development of community use, little league football and swimming; applauds the special efforts to enable the disabled and under-privileged to make use of facilities; and thanks all those city councillors and officers concerned for the continuing development of sports and leisure facilities in the city.
