Ravenscraig Steel Mill Closure

EDM number 1043 in 1989-90, proposed by John D Taylor on 22/05/1990.

That this House deplores the decision by British Steel to close the hot strip mill at Ravenscraig; notes that Ravenscraig is an efficient plant; recognises the major importance of the retention of employment at this steel plant for the economy of Scotland; and urges Her Majesty's Government to support all those in Scotland who are united in the call to British Steel to reverse this decision which is disastrous for the Scottish people.

This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
