Detention Of John Richardson In Israel

EDM number 1050 in 1989-90, proposed by Keith Vaz on 23/05/1990.

That this House deplores the treatment of Mr John Richardson of Belgrave Avenue, Leicester, at Tel Aviv Airport on Wednesday 23rd May, by the Israeli authorities; considers the detention and subsequent exclusion of Mr Richardson from Israel where he was due to address an important symposium to be a gross violation of Mr Richardson's freedom of movement; and calls on the Foreign Secretary to make urgent representations to the Israeli Government to enable Mr Richardson to deliver his lecture without fear or hindrance.

This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
