County Boundaries

EDM number 1104 in 1989-90, proposed by Terry Lewis on 13/06/1990.

That this House, recognising the fact that the county boundaries established by the Local Government Act 1973 are no longer relevant, believes that the time has arrived when these should be returned to the pre-1973 position; further believes this would be a popular move, especially so in those areas of the county of Lancaster designated Greater Manchester; and, therefore, urges upon her Majesty's Government the need to implement this proposal as a matter of urgency.

This motion has been signed by a total of 2 MPs.
