Salou's Blue Flag Award

EDM number 1184 in 1989-90, proposed by Thomas Graham on 26/06/1990.

That this House congratulates the Spanish authorities at Salou on being awarded the Common Market Blue Flag seal of approval for its clean beaches; further notes that they spent ú250 million to carry fresh water and improve sewage pipes at sea which now means that they have the cleanest water in Europe and probably the healthiest resort in the Mediterranean; and calls upon the Government to make the beaches of Britain as safe for holidaymakers and not wait till a disaster occurs before doing anything.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
