Glasgow, Maryhill Conservative Flat Raffle
EDM number 1257 in 1989-90, proposed by Maria Fyfe on 09/07/1990.
That this House regards the plan by Scottish Tories to raffle an ú80,000 luxury flat in Maryhill as a further demonstration of their contempt for the needs of the homeless and those living in damp-ridden houses; finds it morally indefensible that some people can afford ú1, 000 for the chance of winning a house they do not need while so many others have accommodation unfit to live in; and suggests this will do little to improve the Tory vote in Maryhill where the Labour majority is 19,364.
