Conduct Of Right Honourable Member For Cirencester And Tewkesbury

EDM number 1272 in 1989-90, proposed by Brian Sedgemore on 12/07/1990.

That this House believes that the published remarks on Germany and Germans by the Right honourable Member for Cirencester and Tewkesbury were in every way despicable and unbecoming of a Minister of the Crown; and calls on the Prime Minister to dismiss him forthwith from his office of Secretary of State for Trade and Industry as a signal to the British people, and the world, that German unification is to be welcomed and that Germany will be expected to play a leading role in the economic and political development of the European Community.
