The Prime Minister And Scotland

EDM number 1278 in 1989-90, proposed by Jim Sillars on 12/07/1990.

That this House notes that despite her repeated claims to be in touch with Scottish life and her repeated attempts to ingratiate herself with the Scottish people, the Prime Minister showed her abysmal ignorance of Scotland and her affairs at Prime Minister's Question Time on Thursday 12th July when declaring that she did not know Sir Kenneth Alexander, who is a man of great distinction in Scottish public and academic life having been Chairman of the Highlands and Islands Development Board, Principal of Stirling University, Chairman of the Standing Commission on the Scottish Economy and now the Present Chancellor of the University of Aberdeen.

This motion has been ammended, see 349A1.
