Sexual Offences Bill and Procedure for Private Members' Bills
EDM number 1281 in 1989-90, proposed by Kate Hoey on 16/07/1990.
That this House notes with concern that the Third Reading of the Private Members' Bill the Sexual Offences Bill, introduced by the honourable Member for Streatham, was blocked, despite the fact that it received an unopposed Second Reading, was unamended both in Committee and Report Stage, and had the support of both front benches and almost universal support in the House; and therefore urges that the procedures for Private Members' Bills should be reviewed in the light of this occurrence.
This motion has been ammended, see 352A1.
