Post Office Profits

EDM number 1315 in 1989-90, proposed by Kate Hoey on 19/07/1990.

That this House is appalled at the loss of ú43.6 million to the Post Office in the sale of Girobank to the Alliance and Leicester Building Society; is further appalled at the loss of ú16.6 million in Girobank's leasing subsidiary when it was sold to Norwich Union, making a total loss of ú60.2 million; and, recognising that this is the result of Government policy, demands that there should be no further privatisation of the Post Office.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
