That this House condemns the continued failure of the Government to adequately fund the Health Service in Leicestershire; notes the plight of Mr A. M. Pemberton, a 74 years old pensioner of Ethel Road, Leicester, who has been told he has to wait 29 weeks for a hip replacement operation; considers that the treatment of Mr Pemberton, who served for four years defending Britain in the Second World War, and others in a similar position, to be a disgrace; and calls for an immediate injection of funds to drastically cut the waiting lists.
