No Confidence In The Secretary Of State For Scotland

EDM number 1426 in 1989-90, proposed by Margaret Ewing on 18/10/1990.

That this House, in view of the deliberate failure of the Secretary of State for Scotland to give an adequate account of his discussions with the Chairman of British Steel about the future for Scottish steel plants within that company, taking account of his lamentable performance in office in failing to safeguard the Scottish steel industry, and recognising that he has become an apologist for Sir Robert Scholey and thus unable to discharge his duties to the people of Scotland, declares that it has no confidence in him as one of Her Majesty's Ministers.

This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
