That this House notes that serious allegations of British military support for the Khymer Rouge have been made and that the Khymer Rouge, still led by Pol Pot, have infiltrated large parts of Cambodia; believes the Government should establish a public inquiry into these allegations; further notes that Cambodia's continuing isolation is causing an economic crisis and much human suffering; calls on the Government to immediately establish a bilateral aid programme with Cambodia and press for the United Nations Development Programme to begin work in Cambodia; welcomes the United Nations involvement in Cambodia; notes that the United Nations peace plan does not include an immediate ceasefire, an end to arms supplies and aid; and calls for Britain, as a Permanent Member of the Security Council, to press for an immediate ceasefire and an end to arms supplies.
