That this House is appalled by a recent newspaper revelation that a British Telecom Sales Executive openly encouraged a potential customer in the setting up of an explicit sex telephone line; regrets to learn of his observation that 'filth is one of (BT's) the biggest sections of the Callstream market'; recognises this to be clearest indication yet of BT's complicity in promoting and sustaining a sordid business; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry to institute a searching inquiry into the affairs of BT insofar as this allegation is concerned.
