Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund

That this House congratulates Scotland's only autonomous aid and development agency, the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) , on completing 25 years of empowering poor communities in the Third World to improve their lives; recognises the generosity of the many thousands of Scots who have freely given over the years; congratulates the Scottish Catholic bishops and the remaining founder, Mr John McKee, on their vision of creating a Scottish-based agency which deals in a spirit of partnership with Third World communities directly from Scotland regardless of creed, race or ideology; and wishes SCIAF well in both its overseas programme and its awareness-raising campaigns in Scotland.
