Premier Of Israel

EDM number 336 in 1989-90, proposed by John Cummings on 18/01/1990.

That this House views with dismay and concerns remarks made by the Premier of Israel, Yitzhak Shamir, regarding the further use of land in the occupied territories on the West Bank, in order to establish settlements for an expected influx of Russian Jewish immigrants; notes that such moves by the Israeli Government are provocative and will undoubtedly damage recent moves towards peace in the Middle East and a settlement of the Palestinian issue; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to condemn Mr Yitzhak Shamir's outrageous statement, and oppose any such move in the United Nations.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
