Education Policy In Wales;amdt. Line 1:

Leave out from House to end and add 'congratulates the Government on the steps taken to improve education in Wales; notes that teacher vacancies in schools are less than 1 per cent. overall; welcomes the support being given to the introduction of the National Curriculum by education support grant and local education authority training grants, totalling ú7 million in the current year and expected to rise to ú10 million in 1990; and fully appreciates the fact that over the last three years when pupil numbers have been falling capital allocations for education in Wales have risen by 20 per cent., but that it is for local education authorities authorities to determine their priorities in relation to school building programmes.'
