Shaftesbury Liberal Democrats And The Crown Post Office Proposals

EDM number 344 in 1989-90, proposed by Charles Kennedy on 19/01/1990.

That this House congratulates the Shaftesbury Liberal Democrats for collecting signatures on a petition opposing the downgrading of the Crown Post Office in Shaftesbury and the proposed change of site; notes that were the plans to be accepted many people might have to travel up to 13 miles for some services and that the new site in Shaftesbury is unlikely to be as accessible as the old; and therefore urges the Post Office to reconsider these proposals
