Self Governing Hospital Trust In Bradford

EDM number 586 in 1989-90, proposed by Max Madden on 20/02/1990.

That this House is alarmed at preparations to establish a Self-Governing Hospital Trust in Bradford before the relevant legislation has obtained Parliamentary approval; is concerned at an unusual agreement whereby Dr Mark Baker, Bradford's District General Manager, who has been seconded to prepare Bradford's self-governing trust may return as Bradford's DGM if he wishes; is concerned that Mr Charles Vize, Clinical Director, has told Bradford National Health Service staff that National Health Service terms and conditions of employment will not apply to Trust staff; believes it vital that all National Health Service staff and the local community be given an early opportunity in ballots to express their views on trusts; and further believes that pending legislation being approved all preparatory work on a trust in Bradford be halted.

This motion has been ammended, see 1208A1.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
