National Health Service In North East Fife

EDM number 657 in 1989-90, proposed by Menzies Campbell on 05/03/1990.

That this House notes the widespread concern about the future of the National Health Service in North East Fife, as demonstrated by over one thousand letters and other communications received by the Liberal Democrats from local people expressing their opposition to the Government's plans for the commercialisation of the National Health Service; believes that the Government's plans offer no hope of a better run or a better funded National Health Service and that the Government's obsession with free market economics is inappropriate for health care and is likely to lead to less choice for the individual patient rather than more; and supports the campaign by professional bodies within the National Health Service to put people first in health care.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
