That this House welcomes the fact that Viraj Mendis has been granted a visa to settle in West Germany and notes his recent arrival there; congratulates the Viraj Mendis Defence Committee and the Tamil Action Committee for their success in breaking the Home Office block on Viraj Mendis living in a European country; and believes that despite his successful application to live in West Germany, Viraj Mendis and his Manchester-born wife have as much right to settle in the United Kingdom as they have to settle in Bremen, West Germany.
