Proposed City Of London Heliport

EDM number 753 in 1989-90, proposed by Kate Hoey on 19/03/1990.

That this House urges the Secretary of State for the Environment to call in for public inquiry the planning application to the City of London Corporation for a heliport to be built on the north bank of the River Thames just east of Cannon Street railway bridge and station; notes the proposal has wide ranging implications for the environment and, in particular, noise, for the views of St. Pauls, for public transport safety on the adjacent railway and on the river, and for residents throughout London; and believes that these issues are of much greater than local significance and can only be properly considered at an inquiry.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
