Bradford Community Charge

EDM number 764 in 1989-90, proposed by David Wilshire on 20/03/1990.

That this House welcomes Conservative-controlled Bradford City Council's decision to set its community charge at the sensibly low level of ú276 per head; applauds the fact that this low charge has been set without the need to cut services; congratulates the council on being able to provide an extra ú13.3 million for improved and new services; and deplores the scaremongering attempts by Bradford's Labour Party to devalue this great achievement by the ruling Conservative Group.
