Conduct Of The Rt. Hon. Member For Ayr

That this House notes and condemns the comments of the former Secretary of State for Scotland, the honourable Member for Ayr, in Scotland on Sunday 29th April, that any claims for backdating of changes to the poll tax for Scotland agree with the sentiments expressed by their backbench Tory colleague; stresses the right of the Scottish people to know the answers to this crucial question prior to the regional elections in Scotland on 3rd May; and requests that both the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Scotland reply to the honourable Member for Banff and Buchan's letters containing detailed questions on backdating of any poll tax changes for Scotland, again prior to 3rd May.
