Mental Health Services In Sheffield

EDM number 935 in 1989-90, proposed by David Blunkett on 02/05/1990.

That this House expresses grave concern at the underfunding of mental health services in the city of Sheffield which will result, over the next four years, in a shortfall of over ú6 million for the provision of those most essential services; is deeply worried at the continuing programme of running down the Middlewood Hospital without sufficient resources; and calls upon the Government to take immediate steps, in conjunction with the Trent Regional Health Authority and the Sheffield District Health Authority, to identify how the agreed programme can be funded and the funding gap met.

This motion has been signed by a total of 26 MPs.
