That this House, noting the call for a little frankness in public affairs in the speech of the honourable Member for Glasgow Garscadden on steel on 4th July, calls upon the Labour leadership to declare whether, if elected to Government, it will take all necessary action, including public ownership of British Steel, to stop the closure of the Dalzell Plate Mill, and ensure that all Scottish steel assets are put to productive use.
