Expulsion By France Of Mr Abdelmoumen Diouri

EDM number 1126 in 1990-91, proposed by Bob Cryer on 11/07/1991.

That this House is disturbed to learn of the expulsion from France on 20th June, of Mr Abdelmoumen Diouri, a 53 year old political refugee from Morocco who had been living in France since 1974; believes that his deportation to Gabon, under an emergency order, is directly connected to his forthcoming book 'A Qui Appartient Le Maroc?' (Who Owns Morocco?) which will provide a detailed account of the wealth, both inside and outside the country, of Hassan II, the King of Morocco; questions the precedent this sets for the future rights of refugees in France; and calls on the French Government to reconsider its decision, annul the expulsion order, permit Mr Diouri to return to France and thereby ensure the defence of the freedom of expression.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
