Second Wave Of Hospital Trusts

EDM number 1269 in 1990-91, proposed by Bill Michie on 16/10/1991.

That this House condemns the Secretary of State for Health for granting trust status to the second wave of hospitals and services which includes Central Sheffield University hospitals, South Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance and Paramedic Service, and Sheffield Children's Hospital, before proper evaluation of the first wave; points out that a majority of the population of Sheffield, the City Council, health workers, trade unions, general practitioners, and the Community Health Council are totally opposed to trust status; and deplores the fact that their views have been contemptuously ignored.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
