That this House welcomes the reprimand of Judge Pickles by the Lord Chancellor arising from his comments about the Lord Chief Justice; is anxious to uphold the independence of the judiciary from the executive; is determined to ensure that judges do not become involved in party political debates; requires the impartiality of the judiciary to be evident; and condemns the political, partisan comments by Judge Pickles on a recent BBC2 Question Time programme.
