Scottish Farm Crisis

EDM number 292 in 1990-91, proposed by Archy Kirkwood on 15/01/1991.

That this House, recognising the crisis which exists in Scotland's farm and crofting communities and noting the unprecedented level of low incomes, calls upon Her Majesty's Government to announce immediately the results of the annual Hill Farming REview; expresses concern that the HLCA mechanism by which farmers and crofters are financially supported is in a state of deadlock; and demands that this situation is resolved immediately to ensure that this vital payment programme is not further delayed.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
