Suppression Of The Baltic States (No. 2)

EDM number 302 in 1990-91, proposed by Jim Lester on 16/01/1991.

That this House condemns the current military action of the Soviet Union in Lithuania and the threat of military repression in Estonia, Latvia and other republics; calls upon the Soviet government to withdraw its forces immediately and to enter into negotiations with the freely elected governments of the Baltic States; and, if military action by the Soviet government is not halted, calls upon Her Majesty's Government to withhold all economic aid to the Soviet Union and to ask the United Kingdom's partners in the European Community also to withdraw co-operation.
