DWR CYMRU : WELSH WATER PLC'S CONDUCT TOWARDS ITS CUSTOMERS

That this House deplores the practice of Dwr Cymru, Welsh Water plc, in issuing county court summonses at the very moment when a customer falls two months in arrears with payments, without apparently making any effort to enquire into the reasons for the delay; notes that frequently in such cases with court costs and solicitors' fees the financial burden on the customer is virtually doubled; and urges the Secretary of State for Wales immediately to make representations to the Chairman of the company to desist from such trigger-happy and heartless conduct which is causing much anguish to many people in Wales.
