Subliminal Messages

EDM number 352 in 1990-91, proposed by Andrew Welsh on 24/01/1991.

That this House views with concern the possibility of the use of subliminal messages on audio and visual tapes without the consent of the viewer or the listener; believes that the use of such tapes, which is not presently illegal, constitutes a serious erosion of the rights and liberties of the individual; and calls for the early introduction of legislation to ban the use of audio and visual tapes with subliminal messages in public places.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
