Transfer Of Public Services To The Private Sector In Bradford Hospital Trusts

EDM number 547 in 1990-91, proposed by Bob Cryer on 27/02/1991.

That this House notes with alarm that the enemies within the National Health Service, namely the trustees and managers of the self-governing hospital trust in Bradford, are handing over a million pound contract for hospital catering services to Taylorplan Ltd., a company with a long and extremely shoddy record of failed standards, poverty wages and rotten working conditions; and further notes that newly qualified nurses are being denied employment by this clique of profit-seeking drones managing the trust through the imposition of a freeze on recruitment to accompany ward closures and other cut-backs as the trust prepares the way for creating profits plus enhanced salaries for the management clique and poverty services for patients.

This motion has been signed by a total of 26 MPs.
