Trade Union Recognition At North Of England Building Society
EDM number 572 in 1990-91, proposed by David Clelland on 06/03/1991.
That this House supports the attempts of the Banking Insurance and Finance Union (BIFU) to gain trade union recognition in order to represent its members employed by the North of England Building Society; recognises that it is the clear wish of the majority of staff employed by the North of England Building Society that such recognition should be conceded; considers the overwhelming vote in favour of a transfer of engagements from the staff association to BIFU to be a demonstration of the support for trade union representation; and calls upon the North of England Building Society to grant recognition without delay.
This motion has been signed by a total of 40 MPs.
