Freedom Of The Baltic States (No. 2)

EDM number 580 in 1990-91, proposed by Margaret Ewing on 07/03/1991.

That this House congratulates the people of Latvia and Estonia who, in following the example of Lithuania, have demonstrated a clear, democratic aspiration for self-determination; re-emphasises that the West never recognised `de jure' the kidnapping of these nations' independence under the infamous Stalin-Hitler agreement; and calls on the Soviet Union and western democracies to ensure peaceful negotiations which will lead to the recognition of the Baltic republics as states in their own right.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
