War Crimes Bill;amdt. Line 1:
EDM number 595A2 in 1990-91, proposed by John Wheeler on 14/03/1991.
leave out from 'recognises' to end and add 'welcomes the move taken by the Government in reintroducing the War Crimes Bill; notes the three overwhelming Commons' majorities in favour of war crimes legislation and that the same War Crimes Bill received extensive scrutiny in Committee Stage last session; considers that it is right and proper for the views of the elected House to prevail over the unelected second chamber; further notes that the war crimes procedural motion was the right method needed to implement the Parliament Acts; and believes that the proposed legislation is an important and necessary measure in order that those alleged to have been involved in Nazi-inspired murder and manslaughter who have since been granted the high privilege of British citizenship should be brought to justice.'.
This is a ammendment to 595.
