Conservative Application To Join Christian Democrats

EDM number 600 in 1990-91, proposed by Ronnie Fearn on 13/03/1991.

That this House congratulates the Conservative Party for seeking membership of the European Union of Christian Democrats; notes that the European Union of Christian Democrats parties are committed to a common system of proportional representation for elections, European federal union, worker representation on the company boards, the outlawing of embryo experimentation and abortion, the Social Charter and a single currency; welcomes this change in party policy; and looks forward to the day when all British political parties will acknowledge the need for these policies.
