Abolition Of The Poll Tax
EDM number 603 in 1990-91, proposed by Eddie Loyden on 13/03/1991.
That this House calls on the Government to take immediate steps to abolish the infamous poll tax; points out that local government is in complete disarray as a result of Government policy which places intolerable burdens on local authorities by enforced cuts in jobs and services, thereby creating hardship to millions of families and adding to the already unacceptable levels of unemployment with drastic consequences for the quality of life in the country's towns and cities.
