Royal Air Force And Royal Navy Search And Rescue Helicopters

EDM number 656 in 1990-91, proposed by Bill Walker on 26/03/1991.

That this House believes that experience in the Gulf war has clearly demonstrated the vital importance of having sufficient aircrew personnel in a fully operational training state; and further believes that privatised search and rescue helicopter crews could not and probably would not be prepared to fly behind enemy lines on rescue missions; and calls upon the Government to retain the professional service capability in this essential role.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
