New National Sport And Leisure Complex For Scotland

EDM number 664 in 1990-91, proposed by David Marshall on 26/03/1991.

That this House agrees that the time is long overdue for Scotland to have a brand new facility which would provide football, other sporting and leisure, and recreational facilities for the Nation and its families on a 365 days per year basis; and further considers that the Government should announce such a venture, that it should put up a substantial part of the cost, and that it should enter into immediate discussions with all interested parties including the commercial, industrial and private sectors as well as local authorities and sporting organisations to ensure that such a facility is created and operational as soon as possible.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
